John's Vademecum

I did hope to make notes each day as I sit in the shack and tune the bands and work CW

The idea was to make it easy to go back and see how conditions, activity and my own radio operation changes over time.

The Diary was started at Month 07, July 2023

I think, however that daily records on computer of all activity, comments on each QSO, keys used, comments on conditions etc. is cumbersome when I also keep a paper log, and a PC electronic log and make rough scribbled notes on paper during the QSOs.

It was an experiment that perhaps was a step too far, and made a chore out of operating on the radio

Not everything has to be digitally recorded and made accessible online.

Instead I'll make notes in a physical notebook - i.e the same rough notes I make during a QSO anyway, just done in a “journal” style book instead of on scrap A4 paper, might be more convenient

After today 21 July I think these diary pages will just be a place to store interesting things I might want to share more widely, or access when away from the shack and my log/journal.
